This course looks at the history of technology in art, beginning with the development of photography, film and video, to the emergence of digital media and Internet art. Theories of ownership, production, reproduction, storage, and perception of meaning over time are explored through lectures, videos, in-class exercises, critiques, and production assignments. Students use basic audio, video, and other communication technologies as mediums for their concept exploration.
