Just nice

After I picked up my Little Caesar’s pizza I thought - “why should I walk the 3/4 mile or so back to my apartment in order to eat what would then be cold pizza, while watching a movie or something on my computer, when there are other places to see and observe around this neighborhood?” So I didn’t. I walked over to the community indoor soccer fields and watched a game, then I walked up to the tennis courts past there and found that they are not only very nice courts - but they are lit until about 10pm. I’ll definitely have to use them. Then I walked down Kansas street and found the Har Mar Superstar van - I didn’t know Kaz moved around here, but unless he’s running drugs, it looks like he has. I then walked by Rudford’s Diner on the corner of El Cajon and Kansas and looked inside - old Denny’s style and it’s open 24 hrs! Something else I’ll have to check out. On the way back I found a place called Dance Unlimited which had a black guy teaching hip-hop dance to a bunch of white girls (moms and daughters) right around the corner from my apartment. Of course this trip also entailed the usual women asking if I wear cologne, or if I have a girlfriend that does, seeing a man crushing cans that I stayed the night with 2 nights ago at the cold weather shelter, a group of gangsta high schoolers… that were trading books of coupons (?!?) and plenty of other riff-raff. Anyways, it was a nice little jaunt around the community and worth noting. Another instance to remind me most of the time I have do stuff for myself and not wait for others to make things happen. In the meantime I also got a call from Scott (I left him a message asking to play tennis on those courts Saturday morning) and it looks like we’re going to the Old Sod Irish Pub down the street from me in about an hour for karaoke with Jenn and her co-workers. Should be a hootanany.
