Watch this 5 part series about how Wal-Mart works. How it reversed the roles of the retailer and supplier so Wal-Mart could tell the suppliers what to supply, how much, how often, and for what price due to their backbone of volume; forced the suppliers to begin manufacturing overseas (mainly in China) to meet expectations pressured by Wal-Mart; lowers the standard of living due to outsourcing factory work; uses bottom price marketing to discourage local competition; and much, much more. Does a very good job at showing how it’s true to the capitalist manifesto, but how when all things are *not* equal, the trouble begins and exploitation takes place. Definitely worth the watch.
